CryptoWorld News reports that Google is testing an AI conversational search feature called “Ask YouTube” on YouTube. After users click the “Ask YouTube” button in the search bar, they can ask questions in natural language. YouTube then returns AI-generated text summaries, along with long videos, Shorts, and categorized recommendations, all integrated into the same results page. The feature is currently limited to YouTube Premium subscribers aged 18 and above in the United States and can be enabled through the YouTube Labs page. YouTube officials say they are working to open the feature up to non-Premium users. A reporter’s hands-on test found that the AI-generated text summaries contain factual errors: when introducing Valve’s older Steam controller, the AI claimed that the controller has no joystick; however, the older model actually has one joystick.
