I just realized something quite interesting about investor psychology in the crypto market. The five poisons of the mind in Buddhism - greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt - we encounter them every day when trading, and most people are completely unaware of it.
Greed is the root of all problems. When the market is rising, everyone fears missing the peak, so they keep buying, keep holding in the hope that prices will go even higher. Greed makes you forget the dangers, forget to take profits when the opportunity arises.
Then comes another phase, when the market begins to correct, and anger dominates. People get furious over losses, curse analysts, curse themselves. At that moment, they often unknowingly cut losses, panic selling while prices are still low. This is when anger causes the greatest damage, especially in the early and middle stages of a bull run.
Ignorance is the hardest to overcome. Many people refuse to learn, refuse to understand the market, the projects they invest in. They just follow the crowd, follow hearsay without verification.
Arrogance makes you look down on others, dismiss warnings, dismiss risks. And finally, doubt – when you hesitate and lack decisiveness, you will miss opportunities or get stuck in wrong decisions.
But truly, if you want to survive until the end of the bull market, you must eliminate these five poisons. Not overnight, but through a continuous mental discipline process. I see that the most successful traders are those who know how to control their emotions, who have discipline and understand themselves.
