I recently came across an interesting ranking of the top 100 wealthiest people in the world, and honestly, I was surprised by what this list looks like now. Musk is in first place with 444 billion, followed by Bezos with 244 billion—this gap is quite large.

What’s funny is that in positions 2–5, you’ll find people from tech and retail: Bezos, Zuckerberg, Ellison, Arnault. Then Pagina and Brin from Google, Gates and Brin again, and Ballmer from Microsoft. This tech billionaire thread is solid.

But when you go further down in the top 100 wealthiest people in the world, you see more diversity—real estate, retail, manufacturing. The Waltons are everywhere (Jim, Rob, Alice, Lukas), then you have the Ambanis from India, Adani, and Slim from Mexico. And interestingly, Changpeng Zhao appears at 23 with 58.9 billion, which is a serious figure.

What stood out to me is what the geographic distribution looks like. Americans dominate the top, but then you see people from China (Ma Huateng, Zhong Shanshan, Zhang Yiming), India, and Europe. It seems like the top 100 wealthiest people in the world is becoming more and more global.

The data is from Bloomberg, so it seems credible. It’s an interesting perspective on how wealth is concentrated today.
