Recently, people are once again watching large on-chain transfers; every time an exchange hot/cold wallet moves, they shout, “Smart money is coming.” Put simply, the more I look, the more I get restless too: it’s not that I think I can copy the answers—it’s that I’m afraid of missing out on “things everyone else already understands.” That kind of FOMO is pretty annoying.

But when I get back to everyday on-chain use, L2 really is appealing. Transfers and interactions are cheap and fast, and in terms of experience, it’s basically hard to go back. Just don’t treat it as having the same level of certainty as the mainnet. My compromise right now is: for frequent small transactions, I run them on L2. If I really plan to hold long-term, have large amounts, or involve permissions (like authorizations/multisig), I’d rather pay a bit more gas to the mainnet and get it all done at once—less messing around. In the end, I care more about fee revenue and retention. Sure, the excitement is excitement, but only keeping users long-term really counts. That’s it for now.
