Coinbase Sued Over Frozen DAI Tied to $55M Theft

An anonymous crypto whale sued Coinbase after the exchange refused to return frozen DAI tied to a roughly $55 million phishing theft. The complaint says the stolen funds were linked to an Aug. 20, 2024 attack that used Inferno Drainer, and that part of the crypto was traced to a Coinbase retail account. Coinbase froze the assets but required a court order before releasing them, and the filing did not disclose how much remained in the account.
