Just came across something that hit different today. Exactly 17 years ago, on January 10, 2009, Hal Finney typed out two simple words that changed everything: "Running bitcoin". That's it. That was the first-ever public mention of Bitcoin, and the price? Zero dollars. Nothing.

But here's what gets me about Hal Finney - this guy wasn't just some random early adopter. He was literally the first person outside of Satoshi to actually run the Bitcoin software. Two days after that tweet, he became the recipient of the very first Bitcoin transaction ever sent. Satoshi himself sent him 10 BTC. Think about that moment.

What really separates Hal Finney from the noise is that he actually understood what he was looking at. Even back in 2009, when Bitcoin was worth nothing and most people had never heard of it, he saw the potential. He publicly stated that if Bitcoin became the world's dominant payment system, a single coin could be worth $10 million. In 2009. When everyone else was sleeping on it.

That's the kind of conviction we're talking about. Real diamond hands don't come from FOMO or hype cycles. They come from actually believing in something when literally nobody else does. Hal Finney had that.

It's wild to think about what he set in motion with that one tweet. Makes you wonder what simple actions we're taking today that might seem legendary 17 years from now. If you could go back and reply to Hal Finney's tweet that day, what would you tell him?
