Just realized I never actually knew what 1k means in crypto and finance lol. Been seeing these abbreviations everywhere but never bothered to look it up properly.
So basically K is short for kilo which just means thousand. That's it. 1K = 1,000. Sounds obvious now but I was out here guessing. 10K is ten thousand, 100K is hundred thousand.
Then there's Million and Billion. Million is 1,000,000 - you see this all the time with YouTube views or follower counts. Billion is the big one at 1,000,000,000. Like when people talk about market cap or total value locked in crypto.
I think what 1k means is actually super important to know if you're trading or following any crypto projects because the numbers get thrown around constantly. When someone says a coin has 1M holders or a token market cap is 1B, you need to actually understand what that means or you'll be confused reading charts all day.
Honestly these terms pop up everywhere - YouTube, Twitter, crypto forums, business news. Once you get what 1k, Million, and Billion represent, reading any financial data becomes way easier. Wish I'd learned this sooner instead of just nodding along when people mentioned it.
