CoinWorld News reports that Nuralbadi, head of the General Department of Parliament and Legal Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in an interview that the United States previously deployed multiple warships in the Gulf of Oman under the so-called “Freedom Plan” in an attempt to provide escort for ships and open a route through the Strait of Hormuz. However, because of the strong response from Iran’s armed forces and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issuing a solemn warning, the United States was unable to successfully pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and the action ended in failure. He said that any U.S. and allied military adventures in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf would impose an unbearable cost on them and would further complicate the situation. He noted that Iran’s stance has been made clear: the security of the Strait of Hormuz can only be ensured by Iran and its people.
