The chairman of the Korean exchange announces the launch of digital asset derivatives in Busan

Korea Exchange Chairman Jeong Eun-bo said the exchange is planning to launch digital asset derivative products, with the goal of making Busan a global derivatives hub.

The information was shared at the 30th anniversary celebration of the Busan Derivatives Market. He said Korea Exchange will promote the introduction of related products and attract international conferences to strengthen Busan’s position.

This plan places Busan at the center of the ambition to build a leading derivatives financial hub in Korea. There are currently no further details on what types of digital asset derivative products will be rolled out or when the implementation will take place.

Korea Exchange’s move suggests that the digital asset derivatives market is still being considered at the level of financial infrastructure. However, the scope of application and the specific roadmap have not yet been announced.
