LayerZero co-founder refutes Kelp DAO's allegations: on-chain records show manual change to "1/1" single DVN configuration
Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 6th, LayerZero co-founder and CEO Bryan Pellegrino refuted Kelp DAO’s previous accusations regarding LayerZero in the rsETH security incident, stating that Kelp initially used the default MultiDVN or DeadDVN configuration, but on-chain records show that Kelp DAO proactively changed the cross-chain configuration of rsETH from the default multi-DVN setup to a 1/1 single DVN configuration on April 1, 2024. LayerZero documentation repeatedly warns that the 1/1 configuration should not be used in production environments.
Bryan Pellegrino added that LayerZero previously recommended a 2/3 multi-signature scheme when advising KelpDAO on DVN configurations, and pointed out that under the 1/1 configuration, nearly 100% of the related transaction volume comes from rsETH. He also stated that a full post-incident analysis report will be released after external security agencies complete their review.
