Trump Temporarily Halts Project Freedom, Continues Negotiations with Iran
Donald Trump officially announced the temporary suspension of "Project Freedom" operations in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday (5/5) local time. Through his post on Truth Social, Trump explained that the suspension of this ship movement was made at the request of Pakistan and several partner countries to provide space for the final negotiation process with Iranian representatives.
Although the "Project Freedom" activity is paused for a short period, Trump emphasized that the military blockade in the strategic area remains fully in effect. This pause is a tactical step to ensure whether the peace agreement previously discussed can be finalized and officially signed by both parties.
The success of this final negotiation is expected to help ease tensions in the Middle East amid the previously escalating conflict risks.
