Over the past two days, I’ve been seeing social mining and fan token stuff—“attention is mining.” Honestly, the moment I see the words “mining,” I get an automatic reflex to check the rules first: how posting compute is accounted for, how decay works, how cheating is caught, and most importantly, what the exit cost is. A lot of these trending schemes rotate so fast that once you get swept up, it’s easy to end up chasing tasks—only to be cut either by the price or by time.

My clumsy method for now: first, set up alerts for nodes and staking so I don’t let my core responsibilities slip just because I’m watching the hype; and then, for anything that requires authorization/signature—even if it’s only “claiming a badge”—go through the permissions first, and use nothing unless you really have to. You can watch the buzz, but don’t treat yourself as fuel… In any case, I’d rather miss out than wake up in the middle of the night to deal with stolen authorizations.
