United CEO Won’t Take the Bait When Asked About American Merger
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby declined to comment on a potential merger with American Airlines Group Inc. during a recent TV interview. Kirby stated it was “not appropriate” to discuss the matter, choosing instead to focus on making United globally competitive. This comes after United slashed its full-year profit forecast due to rising fuel costs linked to the US-Iran war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
