On the 5th local time, the U.S. Southern Command issued a statement saying that U.S. forces launched an attack on a “drug trafficking ship” in the Eastern Pacific that day, killing 3 people on board. The statement said that, following orders from U.S. Southern Command Commander General Frances Donavan, the U.S. “Southern Spear” joint task force carried out an attack on a vessel operated by a “recognized terrorist organization,” killing three male “drug terrorists” on board. No U.S. casualties. Since early September 2025, U.S. forces have conducted multiple strikes against so-called “drug trafficking ships” claimed by the U.S. in the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific, and on November 13 of that year, announced the launch of the “Southern Spear” military operation.
