Recently, I’ve been studying IBC and various "messaging/bridges," basically cross-chain technology. Essentially, you're breaking trust into several parts: the source chain itself might have issues, the target chain might act up, the client/proof mechanism in the middle could be misimplemented, on-chain verification logic might be bypassed, plus a bunch of relayers running diligently or not... Every additional component makes my OCD want to turn off my phone.

People in the group still often share charts like "a certain stablecoin is de-pegging" or "reserve audits are opaque," and when emotions run high, they want to randomly click on bridges. Really, don’t do that—panic only makes it easier to turn risks into confirmed issues.
Anyway, before each cross-chain transfer, I now first review in my mind who I should trust. If I’m unsure, I transfer less, just to be safe... I screenshot and save.
