OpenAI Launches GPT-5.5 Instant: Hallucinations Reduced by Up to 52.5%, Open to All Users
Mars Finance News: On May 6, OpenAI announced an upgrade to its flagship product ChatGPT. GPT-5.5 Instant will be rolled out as the default model for all ChatGPT users within the next two days, and will be opened to API developers under the interface name “gpt-5.5-chat-latest.” According to the report, this upgrade significantly improves factual accuracy in every aspect. Internal evaluations show that, in high-risk prompts covering fields such as medicine, law, and finance, GPT-5.5 Instant produces 52.5% fewer false statements than GPT-5.3 Instant; in difficult conversations marked by users as containing factual errors, it also reduces inaccurate statements by 37.3%. Responses are also more concise, further reducing long-winded formatting and unnecessary emojis while maintaining practicality. Meanwhile, OpenAI announced comprehensive improvements to memory and personalization features. The Memory Sources feature will be opened to web users on all consumer subscription plan tiers, and mobile support is also set to launch soon; personalization enhancements will first be rolled out to Plus and Pro users, with mobile follow-up coming next.
