Reporters learned from the Beijing Municipal Park Management Center that during this “May Day” holiday, major city-run parks in Beijing received a total of 3.311 million tourist visits. Citizens and visitors admired beautiful scenery, strolled through markets, and experienced culture, spending a wonderful holiday among mountains, waters, and gardens. During the “May Day” holiday, the National Botanical Garden (North Garden) launched the themed flower bed “Jing Yun — Mu Shu Dian Fang,” featuring classic Peking Opera character-style designs paired with seasonal flowers in an engaging way. Within the garden, more than 180 species of Gesneriaceae plants were showcased as key exhibits. At the same time, niche ornamental plants such as the Chui liu tree (Amur cork tree), catalpa trees, and ginkgo fruit (Gynocardia) were all in full bloom, creating an inviting spring scene that drew large crowds. Relying on understory spaces, Xiangshan Park has created multiple walk-in natural flower-bedding areas, allowing visitors to follow paths deeper into the flower clusters to experience nature’s untamed charm up close.
