Sui plans to complete the full buildout from the underlying protocol to the application layer by 2026, launching a series of major updates:
· Protocol-level privacy: Will default to integrating privacy transaction functionality, which is a key step to attract institutional users and meet compliance requirements.
· Free stablecoin transfers: By introducing USDsui as the ecosystem’s pegged stablecoin and launching the consumer-facing entry point Slush, the goal is to achieve completely gas-free stablecoin transfers on the Sui network within 2026.
· DeFi functionality deepening: The core order book DeepBook will launch margin trading features, and will introduce a referral rebate / revenue-sharing model to incentivize more users and market makers to participate.
· Scaling Bitcoin finance: Through a variety of BTC-pegged assets (such as LBTC, sBTC, etc.), Bitcoin will evolve from a mere store-of-value asset into an active participant in the Sui DeFi ecosystem, unlocking its trillion-level liquidity.
· AI Agent optimization: Launch a platform optimization called "Agentic Web," which provides foundational support specifically for on-chain automated trading by robots and AI Agents, embracing the upcoming "machine economy."
