BlockBeats news. On May 6, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said to reporters at the White House on Tuesday: “Operation Epic Fury has concluded, and we have achieved the objectives of this operation.” He also noted that the U.S.’s next goal is to establish a secure passage area supported by naval and air forces, to restore ships’ passage capabilities and gradually rebuild all parties’ confidence in the safety of the route.

At the same time, Trump posted on social media, saying that the “Freedom Plan” to “clear” ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz will be temporarily paused. “Based on requests from Pakistan and other countries, and considering the enormous military victories we have achieved in our actions against Iran, as well as major progress made toward the comprehensive final agreement reached with Iran’s representatives, both sides have agreed that, while the blockade measures will continue to remain in effect, the ‘Freedom Plan’ (that is, the operation for ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz) will be paused for a period of time to see whether this agreement can ultimately be reached and signed.”
