Colorado Lawmakers Seek to Replace AI Law With New Rules

Colorado lawmakers proposed SB26-189 to repeal and replace the state’s 2024 AI law, SB24-205, with a narrower framework for consequential decisions. The bill would regulate AI used in employment, education, housing, lending, insurance, healthcare, and government services, and would take effect Jan. 1, 2027, if passed.
