Iran seizes 5 ships carrying approximately 200k liters of smuggled fuel

On the 5th local time, the Iranian Law Enforcement Command Border Guard announced that to strengthen control over the coastal waterways of Khuzestan Province, border patrols learned of two batches of fuel attempting to exit via confirmed routes and planning to sell to middlemen along the Persian Gulf coast countries. Law enforcement subsequently identified and seized four ships, uncovering 130k liters of smuggled diesel. Additionally, personnel from the Mahshahr Maritime Police Base, during the execution of another independent operation, seized a merchant ship and found 68k liters of fuel. A total of eight suspects were arrested in the two operations. The seized fuel and involved personnel have been handed over to relevant authorities for legal proceedings after preliminary case processing. (CCTV News)
