Bullish has entered into an agreement to acquire transfer agent Equiniti for $4.2 billion. The merger aims to create infrastructure for tokenized securities. The deal is expected to close in January 2027 after regulatory approvals. Cryptocurrency exchange Bullish has finalized an agreement to acquire transfer agent Equiniti. The total deal value is $4.2 billion. It includes approximately $1.85 billion of the company's debt and about $2.35 billion in Bullish shares. The press release states that Equiniti serves around 3,000 issuers and over 20 million shareholders, as well as processing approximately $500 billion in annual payments. The company performs registrar functions and maintains records of security owners. The deal is expected to close in January 2027 after obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals and fulfilling standard conditions.
