My X no longer notifies me of messages, and after troubleshooting for half a day, I still don't know what the problem is. Reinstalling doesn't work either. The system settings are also enabled.

I suspect the X direct message feature is broken; I have to follow back others before I can see their private messages.
It's inexplicable 🙂
