Today I saw someone post "whale address entered the market" again and was about to follow the trade, my first reaction was: Are you sure they are building a position, or are they hedging? ... Some large orders look fierce, but on the other side, perpetual/spot pairs, the net exposure isn't much, and following along might just be taking on their volatility. My habit is to first check the funding rate and order book for alignment; if there's no resonance, I just consider it noise. Recently, the AI Agent and automated trading setups have been quite noisy, with narratives being hyped up, but don't give away permissions for on-chain interactions, signatures, etc. (don't let the "automatic" system also automatically access your wallet later). Anyway, I love to chase after opportunities, but I also need to keep my hands in check; being a little slow isn't embarrassing.
