Paid and Official Certification (with Public Badge)
1. Blue Badge (Twitter Blue): Personal paid subscription
(Month $8 / Year $84, in some regions), requires phone number + identity
information, offers features like editing tweets, priority ranking, etc., does not represent authority, easy to have impersonation accounts.
2. Gold Badge: Business / Merchant certification, requires submission of qualification review,
displays "Official Business" label, distinguished from Blue V.
3. Gray Badge: Government / Officials, International Organizations, Mainstream Media,
etc., free but strictly reviewed, indicates organizational identity (e.g., "Chinese Government Official"), authoritative mark.
Certification Application Methods
● Blue V: "Settings - Blue V" subscription within the app;
● Gold / Gray V: Submit organizational qualification application on the official website, issued after approval.
Notes
● Blue V ≠ authority, Gold / Gray V are official marks (e.g., Biden, Hua Chunying as Gray V);
● The old free Blue V was canceled starting April 2023, paid certification required.
