According to BlockBeats, on May 5th, policy researcher Jacob Smagula with a background in the cryptocurrency industry joined the team of U.S. Congressman Ritchie Torres to work on digital asset legislation through the American Innovation Project (AIP). Smagula previously worked in government affairs at Bitcoin mining company Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA), and is currently conducting policy research at DeFi Education Fund, bringing his expertise in industry-regulatory communication to the role.
