CFTC Prediction Market Rule Draws Split State and Industry Responses

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission received more than 1,500 public responses after the comment period for its proposed prediction market rule closed Thursday. State gambling regulators opposed broader federal oversight, while Kalshi, Polymarket, Coinbase, and Andreessen Horowitz backed the CFTC’s jurisdiction.
