Abstract generation in progress

The completion and delivery ceremony of the first domestically produced “Hualong One” fully forged low-pressure rotor forging took place on April 24 at China First Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd. The “Hualong One” domestically developed million-kilowatt nuclear power steam turbine low-pressure rotor forging was jointly developed by China First Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., China General Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd., and Harbin Steam Turbine Factory Co., Ltd., marking the full realization of independent control of this product. According to reports, the fully forged low-pressure rotor forging of the steam turbine features advantages such as compact structure, short axial length, good rigidity, and low stress. It is a core component of the “Hualong One” million-kilowatt nuclear power unit’s conventional island equipment. Its large tonnage, high precision, and extremely harsh operating conditions, along with material purity, forging process, heat treatment level, and flaw detection standards, all represent the highest difficulty in high-end heavy equipment manufacturing. For a long time, this critical core forging was supplied mainly by foreign sources, posing risks to nuclear power project progress, equipment safety operation, and the independent, controllable industrial chain, and has been a key bottleneck restricting China’s independent, controllable capabilities.
