Coinbase launches self-managed retirement fund crypto services in Australia

Crypto World Network news: Coinbase Australia has announced support for self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF), providing trustees with a new way to invest in crypto assets. The service is aimed at self-directed investors who already manage their retirement savings, offering downloadable data that complies with local accounting standards and adding verification procedures tailored to Australian fund structures. John O’Loghlen, General Manager of Coinbase Asia-Pacific, said that as Australia’s regulatory environment becomes increasingly clear and institutions step up adoption of digital assets, SMSF is seen as a key growth area for Australia. According to official data, by the end of 2025, Australia will have at least 664,000 SMSFs, with total assets of approximately AUD 1.06 trillion (about USD 758.2 billion). Coinbase’s SMSF service was launched shortly after it obtained an Australian Financial Services License.
