Colombian President: Mercenaries participating in conflicts of other countries are illegal

Colombian President Petro stated on social media on the 4th that currently about 7,000 trained Colombian military personnel are fighting in a conflict that does not belong to them, and are even dying pointlessly in Ukraine. Petro said, “We do not want to export death; mercenaries are prohibited by law.” Reports indicate that there are approximately 7,000 Colombian soldiers fighting on the front lines in Ukraine, more than any other foreign soldiers.
