Lately there's been more debate about whether to give creators royalties in the secondary market.
It kind of feels like a governance meeting: everyone says "support creators," but when it comes time to place an order, the calculations start.
Honestly, royalties are not a moral issue; they're an incentive design issue—being too strict pushes liquidity away; being completely casual, creators can only rely on passion to keep going.
What's more awkward is that now public opinion tends to link ETF fund flows, U.S. stock market risk appetite, and crypto market rises and falls together.
When the market fluctuates, platforms and project teams just want to "stay alive" first, and long-term things like royalties are easily pushed to the back...
After the meeting, reflecting on it, what’s really needed is more transparency: who is actually settling accounts with creators, and who is just verbally supporting but quickly shutting off the button.
I personally am more willing to pay a little extra for the works I truly follow, but only if I’m not being taken for a fool.
What about you?
