I've always felt pretty uncomfortable with the concept of social mining: claiming it's about "identity," but in the end, it just turns into who can better showcase their presence or who can grind more tasks. Badges, points, whitelists... frankly, they're all incentive designs, but don't treat time as an costless chip; draining it doesn't necessarily give you true ownership.

Running nodes on the chain for a long time makes you more sensitive: if identity can't bring verifiable responsibilities/rights boundaries, then it's just a pretty sticker. Now the L2s are arguing over TPS, fees, ecosystem subsidies, and the more intense the debate, the more I want to ask: what's left when the subsidies stop? I keep it simple myself—automate what can be automated, and for what can't, I'd rather not do it. I don't want to break my life rhythm just for a badge.
