Institution: The economic costs of the Middle East conflict will gradually become apparent

Golden Finance reported that on May 5, analysts at Abu Dhabi First Bank said in a report that the economic costs brought about by the Middle East war are expected to become increasingly evident over the coming days to weeks. The analysts noted that they will closely watch the final figures for the U.S. services sector and the Composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) to be released on Tuesday, while this week’s macroeconomic focus is on the U.S. April non-farm employment data released on Friday. Given that current price pressures (driven by energy-input inflation) remain strong, they will pay close attention to whether there are any signs of weakness in the labor market and whether there is any implied stagflation.
