Lately, people are starting to chase airdrop interactions again, and I also get an itch to jump in, but I’ll hold back first. To put it plainly, I fear losing on both sides: on one side, getting counter-rugged (with fees burned up in piles, and in the end your name isn’t even on the final list), and on the other side, getting flustered by FOMO and clicking links and granting approvals at random. My approach is kind of old-school: I only pick protocols I can understand and that are truly useful—interact less frequently, but keep going consistently. Each time I authorize, I keep the amount as small as I can; once I’m done, I promptly revoke any unnecessary permissions. I leave a little “trial-and-error bucket” in my wallet—when it’s gone, I stop. The twist is… once I see those attention-cycling vibes from Meme and celebrity shoutouts, I’m even less willing to rush in. The old player line, “Don’t take the last baton,” sounds harsh, but it’s pretty spot-on. Either way, I’d rather take a bit less than risk messing up my safety and my rhythm.
