UnityAI Public Beta Launch: Built-in exclusive Agent, official MCP open for external IDE direct connection to the engine
According to Beating Monitoring, the game engine giant Unity announced that its AI toolkit, Unity AI, has officially started a public trial. The toolkit requires Unity 6.0 or higher. It not only provides a built-in dedicated Agent, but also, through the newly added AI Gateway and the official MCP Server, establishes a low-level connection between third-party large models and the Unity engine.
During this public trial, Unity offers a dual set of options: its own tools alongside open access. On the one hand, its built-in Agent has been trained using Unity best practices accumulated over more than 20 years, enabling it to understand scenes and carry out actions directly within the editor. On the other hand, developers can also connect their own subscribed third-party Agents via the AI Gateway, and such calls do not consume official credits. In addition, the newly released official MCP Server allows developers to bridge to and control Unity from external IDEs. Unity emphasizes that its execution performance is superior to existing open-source alternatives.
Regarding pricing, official permissions are directly tilted toward paying enterprise customers. Paid users of Unity Pro, Enterprise, and Industry can use it without any additional charge. Individual users are only granted a 14-day trial allowance (limited to 1000 credits); afterward, they must subscribe at $10 per month (including 1000 credits per month). For data privacy, the official commits that users’ project data will not be used for model training by default, and that all AI-generated assets will have dedicated traceability tags embedded.
