Michael Burry Sells All GameStop Holdings

On May 5, The Wall Street Journal reported that ‘Big Short’ Michael Burry has sold all of his shares in GameStop (GME.N) following the company’s announcement to acquire eBay (EBAY.O). Burry indicated on Monday that his previous investment thesis—transforming GameStop into a Berkshire Hathaway-style company through mergers and acquisitions—was incompatible with the large-scale debt financing required for the eBay acquisition, leading him to exit the investment.
