Last night I was again looking at the IBC system, honestly, what exactly are we trusting in this cross-chain setup: on one side, the "light client" (the system that can verify whether the other chain's blocks are legitimate), in the middle, a bunch of relayers running around sending messages, and then the chain itself producing blocks without issues. It sounds pretty clean, but as long as any one of these links "passes first," you'll see familiar scenes in the group chat: the bridge gets hacked again, the oracle suddenly reports an outrageous price, and everyone collectively says "wait for confirmation"...

My current approach to cross-chain is basically laid-back: I avoid using bridges if I can, and if I do need to, I prefer to go slower, wait a bit longer—any rush usually costs the most.
