I just read something that made me think... How many tons of gold are actually in the world? It turns out that according to data from the World Gold Council, the total gold we have mined so far is around 216,000 tons. But if we add up everything that's underground and already identified, we reach nearly 348,000 tons. Imagine all that gold concentrated in a single cube... it would be just 21 meters on each side. Basically the size of a normal apartment building. What blew my mind was the following calculation: if we divide that total by the 8 billion people on the planet, each person would have about 23 kilos of gold. Yes, you read that right. Each of us would theoretically have about 23 kilos of that yellow metal. When you see the numbers presented like that, the total amount of gold available in the world looks quite different, doesn’t it?
