The US and Iran clash in the Strait of Hormuz, with the US claiming to have destroyed 6 Iranian small boats.

Tensions between the US and Iran around the Strait of Hormuz have pushed oil prices up to $115 and caused a sell-off in US Treasury bonds.

Some reports indicate that the US has launched “Project Freedom” to reopen this strait. The US military said it destroyed 6 small boats of Iran, intercepted cruise missiles and UAVs launched by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and escorted 2 US commercial ships through the area.

However, it is currently not fully verifiable on the ground due to conflicting algorithms and accounts from the US and Iran. Reuters stated that this is why the situation at the Strait of Hormuz remains unclear.

AP, citing sources from the UAE, said the country intercepted 15 missiles and 4 UAVs, causing damage and casualties in the Fujairah area. Iran has neither admitted nor denied responsibility but has accused the US of “adventurous military actions.”
