Treasury Secretary Says Iran Blockade Will Continue Until Navigation Freedom Returns
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said the blockade on Iran will continue until freedom of navigation returns to its pre-Feb. 27 state. In a post on X on May 1, Besant also said the U.S. has complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. Besant said Iran is facing a hard-currency shortage and rationing for food and gasoline.
