Nucor (NUE) Beats Q1 Estimates as Steel Prices Lift Revenue 21%

Nucor (NUE) reported first-quarter revenue of $9.5 billion and EPS of $3.23, beating analyst estimates of $8.86 billion and $2.82. Chair and CEO Leon Topalian said the company generated about $1.5 billion of EBITDA, while CFO Jack Sullivan said net earnings reached $743 million. The stock rose nearly 5% after the earnings release and is up more than 38% so far this year.
