National gasoline prices surpass 2,011.22 won… Seoul highest, Daegu lowest, price gap widens to 56 won
The average domestic gas station gasoline price is 2,011.22 Korean won per liter, up 2.77 won from 2,008.45 won the previous week; diesel price is 2,005.20 won per liter, up 2.80 won from 2,002.40 won the previous week, continuing the synchronized upward trend. Gasoline has broken through the 2,010 won mark and continues to rise, while diesel remains above 2,000 won, indicating an expanding cost burden.
■ Seoul highest, Daegu lowest… Gasoline price gap of 56.14 won, diesel price gap of 50.35 won
Looking at each region, Seoul has the highest gasoline price at 2,051.76 won per liter, up 4.13 won from the previous week. Conversely, Daegu has the lowest at 1,995.62 won, an increase of only 2.16 won from the previous week. As a result, the price gap between Seoul and Daegu has widened to 56.14 won. For diesel, Seoul also has the highest at 2,038.68 won, up 4.34 won, while Daegu has the lowest at 1,988.33 won, up 3.38 won. The diesel price gap is 50.35 won.
■ Capital area and Chungcheong area show mixed changes… some regions turn to decline
In the capital area, Gyeonggi Province’s gasoline price is 2,012.97 won per liter, up 1.53 won, but diesel is only 2,006.02 won, with a limited increase of 1.34 won. In Incheon, gasoline is 2,009.50 won, up 2.77 won, and diesel is 2,005.08 won, up 2.29 won. Chungcheong area shows mixed movements. North Chungcheong Province’s gasoline is 2,015.99 won, up 2.50 won, but diesel is only 2,010.31 won, up 2.80 won; Daejeon gasoline is 2,002.32 won, up 2.64 won, and diesel is 1,996.12 won, up 2.30 won, remaining relatively low. Sejong’s gasoline is 2,004.11 won, up 3.77 won, and diesel is 2,001.45 won, up 5.32 won, both above 2,000 won.
In the Yeongnam area, Gyeongsangbuk-do gasoline is 2,004.40 won, up 3.29 won, and diesel is 1,998.40 won, up 3.17 won. Gyeongsangnam-do gasoline is 2,003.36 won, up 2.36 won, and diesel is 1,999.71 won, up 2.07 won, both remaining below 2,000 won. Busan gasoline is 1,998.28 won, up 1.21 won, and diesel is 1,992.02 won, up 1.39 won.
■ Limited impact from international oil prices… upward trend may continue
Regarding international refined oil prices, gasoline is at 2,008.61 won per liter and diesel at 2,002.81 won, showing similar trends to domestic prices. Due to supply uncertainties and fluctuations in refining margins, domestic oil prices are likely to continue a moderate upward trend in the short term. However, due to slowing demand and exchange rate variables, the increase is expected to be limited.
