just noticed something wild about uk politics and wealth accumulation. been scrolling through historical data on prime ministers' fortunes and the patterns are honestly fascinating.

so like, some of these guys came in relatively modest and left absolutely loaded. tony blair is probably the most obvious example - went from around $1m to $70m. that's the kind of wealth trajectory that makes you wonder what happened behind the scenes.

then you've got the inherited money crowd. rishi sunak basically stayed at $900m+ (because he was already loaded), and david cameron went from $50m to $70m - more of a modest bump when you're already that wealthy.

what really caught my eye though is the middle tier. gordon brown net worth shifted from about $2m to $5m during his tenure. margaret thatcher had an even bigger jump - $10m to $60m. john major went from $1m to $6m. these are the ones where you actually see meaningful changes.

and then there's the recent crew. keir starmer holding steady around $8m, liz truss barely moving from $10m to $12m. boris johnson went from $2m to $6m which is interesting given all the controversy.

the wealth inequality among these leaders is absolutely mental when you line them all up like this. some entered office as millionaires, others as near-billionaires. really puts into perspective how different their starting positions were.

anyway, this kind of data always makes me think about power, influence, and how fortunes shift. pretty wild to see the numbers laid out like this across decades of british politics.
