The overall road traffic nationwide remained smooth and orderly on the fourth day of the May Day holiday.
Reporters learned from the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security on May 4th that, on the fourth day of the “May Day” holiday, various regions have gradually entered the peak return flow period, with traffic volume on major national expressways and provincial and national trunk roads generally operating at high levels. Public security traffic management departments across the country have strengthened order control, strictly investigated prominent violations, enhanced emergency response, widely promoted safety tips, and made every effort to ensure road traffic safety and smooth flow. As of 6 p.m., except for some sections experiencing congestion and slow traffic due to excessive flow or minor collisions, the overall operation of main national roads remains stable and orderly, with no long-term large-scale traffic jams. May 5th is the last day of the “May Day” holiday, and regions will see the peak return flow period, with traffic on expressways and provincial and national trunk roads remaining at high levels. The Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security reminds returning travelers that long-distance drivers should ensure adequate sleep and avoid fatigue driving. In case of traffic accidents on expressways, remember “pull over to the side, evacuate, and report immediately.” When encountering congestion ahead, drivers should queue in order, pass one by one, avoid cutting in or taking advantage of the situation to pass first, and do not occupy emergency lanes.
