CoinWorld News reports that New York Federal Reserve President Williams stated on Monday that the Fed's current easing bias reflects the potential long-term direction of monetary policy, and that inflation dynamics have not yet reached a level that warrants discussion of interest rate hikes. After delivering a speech in New York City, he told reporters, "I don't see any signs from today's data that suggest a need to raise rates 'in the near term.'" However, he added that given the many uncertainties currently present, he believes "we are not yet able to provide clear guidance on the interest rate path for upcoming meetings."
