I tried once, and the mainnet suddenly started to get congested, that queuing feeling in the mempool was really like rush hour on the subway... After I confirmed the transaction, I kept staring at my wallet spinning: first it was "Pending," then after a while it changed to "Estimated to take longer," and after some more time, others had already gone through the same process, but my transaction was stuck as if it was cut in line. Basically, miners/packagers pick the more lucrative fees first, and I, being cheap and cautious, could only wait. I wanted to speed it up but was afraid of getting more and more frustrated. The more awkward thing was, at that time, I was also arguing over NFT royalties—creators wanted to earn more, but buyers thought the costs were too high... As a result, when the chain got congested, everyone experienced what "cost" really looked like. Anyway, I learned my lesson: if there's no rush, just use Layer 2, and before going to the mainnet, check if it’s congested to an absurd level again.
