Stopping loss is really like breaking up; even when things have been off for a while, you still stubbornly drag it out, thinking "just a little longer," and in the end, you lose not only your principal but also the interest of your time and mood. Recently, I've been seeing social mining and fan tokens, that "attention equals mining" approach, which basically means using your attention as collateral, making you reluctant to leave first, then lazy to check permissions or revoke access, and finally just saying "it should be fine." My current approach is pretty simple: once I notice myself starting to make excuses, I cut it in half and clear all unnecessary permissions, preferring to take a loss rather than be dragged down by habitual trust... I'm going to get to work.
