The SEC halts prediction markets and exchange-traded funds

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission 🇺🇸 has delayed several prediction market-based ETFs, requesting more clarity on the structure, mechanisms, and risk disclosures.
More than 20 funds from Roundhill Investments, GraniteShares, and Bitwise Asset Management are now suspended just days before their expected launch.
📊 These funds aim to track the outcomes of binary events (elections, economic data, markets) through platforms like Kalshi — but regulators are not convinced… yet.
Main concerns: • Market manipulation and insider risks
• Pricing and settlement ambiguity
• Structural complexity versus retail investor understanding
Despite the delays, insiders say it’s temporary and not a rejection.
If approved, it could open a new frontier: trading probabilities as assets.
Smart money is watching. The next wave of ETFs may not follow markets.
They may track outcomes. 📈
