OpenAI and private equity firm reach $10 billion joint venture agreement

OpenAI will provide an initial equity commitment of approximately $500 million, with the potential to increase to $1.5 billion in the future, while maintaining effective control over the joint venture’s strategic direction. The joint venture aims to deploy OpenAI’s software into the portfolio companies of participating private equity firms, driving AI integration across multiple sectors including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and finance.
