Recently, someone has been watching large on-chain transfers and hot/cold wallets on exchanges and shouting "Smart money is coming" whenever they move. I find it quite amusing but also a bit anxious... There’s too much information, and my mind feels bombarded by the mempool. Anyway, I’m adding a layer of filtering for now: I don’t look at how much someone transfers, I first look at how the money "flows"—especially across chains via bridges.
Cross-chain stuff, to put it simply, is about trusting multi-signature setups and oracles. Usually, it’s like air—nothing happens, but when something does, it’s "Oh, the buttons are in a few people's hands." So I now deliberately slow down when crossing bridges, not just to save a few minutes of fees, but to give myself a cooling-off period: on-chain confirmation doesn’t necessarily mean the bridge is safe. I wait for a few rounds, watch for any abnormal withdrawals or pauses, and then proceed. It’s easy to rush in impulsively, only to find the door welded shut later… That’s how I do it for now.
